Exhibition on Sun Yat-sen opens in Beijing

In order to commemorate the 100^th anniversary of China’s 1911 Revolution, an exhibition on Sun Yet-sen was held on Tuesday. The exhibition is shown at the former residence of Madame Soong Ching Ling, Sun's wife.

 

The residence in downtown Beijing was repurposed as a public memorial site and museum after Madame Soong passed away in 1981.

 

The residence holds over 320 of Sun's possessions. More than 110 items, including Sun's private seal and pistol, were included in this exhibition. Nearly half of the items on display were made public for the first time.

 

Besides showing Sun's experience leading the great revolution, the exhibition also shed light on the couple's marriage. They married in 1915 in Tokyo, Japan. Sun died in 1925.

 

Photos of their wedding and daily life, letters and Sun's testament were selected. Some items had been lent out to a joint exhibition running a similar theme in Taipei earlier this year.
