Photo exhibition about Tibet was held in Beijing

On April 28, the judging panel went through the preliminary selection of photos submitted for the photo contest themed 'Witness of 60 years in Tibet'.

Launched in November last year, the competition was hosted by the "China's Tibet" magazine and the Federation of Literary and Art Circles of Tibet in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet as well as review of Tibet's development in the past decades.

The photo submission phase was concluded on Apr.15, 2011.

This contest has gained widespread influence in the country. Over 3,000 pieces of photos have been received from various regions throughout China, including over 1,000 pieces from Tibetan areas.

The seven-member judging panel finally selected and decided on the prize-winning works at various levels.

All award-wining photographic works are scheduled to be exhibited at the Cultural Palace of the Nationalities in Beijing for 10 days from May 23, on which day Tibet was peacefully liberated six decades ago.
