China International Exhibition on Financial Banking Technology & Equipment ("CIFTEE" in brief) is an annually large-scale international exhibition on financial information and technology. It is authorized by the Ministry of Science & Technology of P.R China and the People's Bank of China (P.B.C in brief), sponsored and organized by China Financial Computerization Corporation of PBC, supported by the Division of Science and Technology of the People's Bank of China and the Information Center of China Banking Regulatory Commission, and co-organized by the information & science department of 27 financial bodies, including policy-based banks, state-owned commercial banks, joint-stock commercial banks, asset management companies, insurance companies ,China UnionPay Corporation. Ltd.and China Banking Association.
In recent years, with further deepening of the reform and opening up policy, China is making more tangible efforts in financial computerization infrastructure. On the principle of "promoting the corporation and communication between China financial industry and IT companies at home and from abroad, and boosting the development of China financial computerization", the organizing Committee of CIFTEE increased more contents to the exhibition, apart from the new techniques and facilities showing, they organized serial activities of scientific and technological communication , which include the Forum on the Development of China Financial Computerization, Hi-tech symposium and special on demand marketing events.
With the advance in the past 12 years, CIFTEE, deriving from an equipment selection fair held in 1993, with only 40 exhibitors, attracted more than 200 exhibitors in recent year. By the year 2004, the twelfth CIFTEE, more than 300 different companies participated in the exhibition. Many of them are world-famous ones. Visitors to CIFTEE from China's financial fields summed up to 100,000. The forum on the Development of China Financial Computerization was held in recent five years and the audience in total 17 units amounts to nearly 8,000 person/times and the Seminars for 238 rounds, with professional visitors about 13,000.CIFTEE has gradually developed into one of the most significant financial exposition in China, even in Asia.
