Hohhot aspires to be summer resort for Beijing and Tianjin tourists

          Hohhot is 440 kilometers away from Beijing and the flight duration from Beijing Capital International Airport to Hohhot is only around 50 minutes. 

          After the Beijing-Baotou Railway is put into operation, trains will be available to travel between Beijing and Hohhot, taking only three and a half hours. Therefore, Hohhot plans to develop three major tourist zones into a key summer resort in northern China and is striving to develop it into a favorite travel destination for tourists from Beijing, Tianjin and Tangshan to spend their summer holidays.

          The three tourist zones are the Daqingshan Mountain tourist zone, Yellow River tourist zone and the historical and cultural tourist zone.

          Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region covers an area of almost 1.2 million square kilometers and has plenty of tourist destinations that are rich in travel, exploration and holiday leisure resources. 

          Hohhot, the capital of the region, will take the lead in developing the tourism and cultural industry of the entire region by helping travel agencies to create tourist brands and routes, according to Hao Jikuan, director of the Chamber of Inner Mongolia Tourism Industry
