Railway Ticket Booking Service Time Shortened in Beijing

From Feb. 17, the Beijing Railway Board will shorten the service hours for its online and telephone tickets booking by three hours and one hour respectively.

After the change, the online and telephone ticket booking service will be available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The change is due to the passing of the Spring Festival transportation surge and the reduction in online and telephone reservations. Passenger will be able to book tickets within four to 12 days using the telephone booking service. Meanwhile, reservations made before midnight are to be kept valid for 24 hours, and reservations made after midnight will also be valid for 24 hours to the next day.

The Beijing Railway Board will continue the sync of online and telephone methods and give them priority over station ticket windows. Their pre-sale periods remain to be 12 days, compared to the 10 days of the station ticket windows.
